Opened in December 1999 in a beautifully refurbished building in the heart of Georgian Dublin, ely soon gained the reputation for being the best place in the city to relax over a glass of wine and enjoy a good meal. We have put together one of the most comprehensive winelists in the country with something to suit every taste and pocket.

Passionate about wine and always respectful of its traditions and culture, we prefer a relaxed style of service at ely. We are always on hand to talk to customers about the wine they like to drink, and to help educate those who are interested to learn more.

Our ethos is to make sure that everything we do, we do well: from serving the best coffee in town to having really smart wine ware.

This ethos is nowhere more apparent than in our food. Since we opened, all beef pork and lamb is sourced from our family farm in the Burren Co. Clare. All other produce such as oysters, seafood, cheeses etc. are sourced locally from suppliers who share our hands on approach. Our menus are both uncomplicated and delicious; when you have the best of produce to choose from, you really have to let the food speak for itself.

"From the beginning, the ethos at ely has been simple: we want to serve good quality, simple food that works well with our wine list. We want to serve good quality wine by the glass as well as by the bottle. And we want to offer it all at reasonable prices, in relaxed and comfortable surroundings." - Erik and Michelle Robson
