While a plateful of tapas works perfectly in Spain, here in Ireland, we've found that the cooler climate dictates a different menu, something substantial, maybe warming, and possibly eaten as a single dish. That's why we serve good quality, fresh food that's easily managed and easily shared. Our ely cold charger - a plate of cheese with cured meats that feeds a few - has been a favourite from the early days. Other favourites include our organic beef burger, organic bangers and mash and ely fishcakes. The menus have developed and evolved considerably as we've expanded into ely chq brasserie and ely hq gastro pub. However, we believe that food should not overpower wine. The emphasis is always on the quality of the ingredients rather than bombarding the senses, and our traditional ely winebar dishes still feature in some form or other at all three ely venues. Our cheeses and seafood are all sourced locally from suppliers who share our hands on approach. We make everything fresh in house daily including all breads, pastries and ice-creams. We cook everything to order not matter how large the party. |
