Spanish Wine Week at ely

To celebrate Spanish Wine Week ely are hosting a Cava and Canape Night at Ely Bar & Grill on Thursday the 26th of April.

For too long Cava has overshadowed by inferior sparkling wines from other countries, but no more! This tasting will give you a glimpse at the range, quality and styles of Cava available, and we’ll pair them with a selection of our favourite canapés to show you just how well they complement food.

To add to the Spanish wine week celebrations ely wine bar are serving a Spanish wine flight showcasing three fine Spanish wines.

Menade v3 vinas vieja verdejo rueda castilla y leon spain

Beautiful Verdejo that has an element of seriousness because of ripe fruit combined with 10 months of large oak-barrel aging. There is good depth and intensity on the palate with fairly long length

PintiaVeg

2013a Sicilia need no introduction, being one of the greatest names in the world of wine for a very long time. The region of Toro might at the moment, but it is most definitely one to watch. Slightly more extreme in climate than places like Ribero del Duero, the wines are suitable expressive. This is 100% Tinto del Toro (Tempranillo), and is a perfect package of blackcurrant and plum, tobacco and cedar, spice and oak. And as beautifully made as you would expect.

Clos Mogador Priorat

One of the iconic wines of the Priorat region, Clos Mogador is a mountain of a wine! A blend of Garnacha, Carinena, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, it takes years to reach its full potential, but as its develops the dense black fruit evolves into wood smoke, earth and spice, with perfectly integrated tannin and intense minerality.

The cost of the flight is €40 and can be enjoyed at ely wine bar.
