A Long Weekend

It’s not only the weekend but it’s a long weekend!

Long Weekend

The October Bank Holiday weekend is fast approaching.  As always it is shaping up to be a welcome break with the schools on midterm and an extra hour in our weekend. There are lots of events taking place across the city and we thought we’d share some of our favourites with you.

EPIC Halloween Events

EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum is an interactive experience located just on our doorstep in Dublin’s Docklands. It will inspire and guide you on a journey to discover the stories of Irish emigration around the world, from early times to the modern day.

Bram Stoker is a favourite character in EPIC’s museum vaults, so on the 30th of October EPIC will be be embracing their inner-Dracula and having a fang-tastic Halloween party! Come dressed as your favourite spooky character, do creepy arts and crafts, play games and have loads of fun. There will be treats on the day and face-painting to make you extra scary.

Tickets for this event are available on the EPIC website. The event is recommended for ages 5 – 11. Children must be accompanied at all times.

The combination of a visit to EPIC followed by brunch or dinner at ELY makes for a really special bank holiday family day out.

The Bram Stoker Festival 2018

Leaving the best until last, our highlight of the weekend has to be the Bram Stoker Festival 2018.

Whether you’re a resident vampire or visiting from further afield the festival has something for everyone in its Gothically inspired programme of events. Our favourite event in the programme must be the Macnas Parade which will take place on Monday the 30th of October at 6pm.
From its starting point at Moore Street, the parade will amble down Mary Street and make its way to the finishing point at Marys Lane.

Bram Stoker Festival

This is a free family event so we recommend arriving early to get the best viewing spot.

Aside from all of the above excitement we are serving up Killer Steaks on the menu in both ely wine bar and ELY BAR & GRILL over the weekend.

ely Bar&Grill
