Maurice Charleux Maranges 1er Cru

33.95

6 in stock

Description

The southern most appellation in the Cote d’Or, lying immediately south of Santenay. Here the soils are a mixture of clay and limestone. Most notably, Maranges produces wines that are packed with hedge-row fruits, both black (blueberry, loganberry) and red (cherry, pomegranate, raspberry). Slightly earthy, which is most attractive. The ‘Clos du Rois’ vineyard is one of the finest Premier Crus of the appellation and the imbiber is well rewarded with a mouthful of ripe, hugely satisfying ‘forest’ fruits
