EPIC Emigrant Story Collecting Weekend

Everyone’s got a story to tell – come along to our neighbours at EPIC this August and share yours!

Don’t forget to bring an object that represents your migration story. It can be anything: letters, clothes, recipes, art, a photograph – anything that’s important to you.

They would particularly like to hear from new Irish communities and recent arrivals.

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin is looking for stories from people who have made their home in Ireland at our Storytelling Collection Weekend.

As part of a special Europe-wide project and National Heritage Week 2018, the interactive museum in Dublin’s Docklands is inviting the public to come along on the weekend of 18 and 19 August to share their stories of migration through objects.

People are encouraged to bring along one or more objects that are part of their own or their family’s migration story. They can be any sort of object: letters, postcards, photographs, tickets, diaries, artworks, items of clothing, recipes, books, mementos, footage, badges, or songs.

EPIC is located in the CHQ building, just beside ELY BAR&GRILL, IFSC and full details of the event can be found on their website.

To celebrate National Heritage Week and just because it’s almost time for back to school, children under 8 years eat free at Ely this weekend, following their visit to EPIC this weekend.

Just show us your EPIC passport or brochure at ELY BAR&GRILL to avail of the offer. Children’s meals are complimentary when accompanied by a dining adult.
