All Hands on Deck this June Bank Holiday Weekend

Dubliners and visitors to the city alike will be truly spoilt for choice this June Bank Holiday weekend with some wonderful events planned for the city.

Starting on our doorstep, literally, The Dublin Regatta 2018 will take place along Dublin’s Sir John Rogerson’s Quay from Friday the 1st of June to Monday the 4th of June.

The arrival of the Tall ships marks the opening of the Regatta as they sail into Dublin on Friday morning. We managed to capture a picture of some of the ships as they arrived in to port, all looking very Pirates of the Caribbean-ish and reflecting the weather today.

The Tall ships are on display to the public from 12noon to 6pm on Saturday the 2nd of June and are well worth a visit with the family.

Bloom 2017

The Phoenix Park, Europe’s largest city park, will play host to Bloom 2017 from Thursday the 31st of May to Monday the 4th of June 2017.
Bloom in the Park celebrates Irish horticulture, food and drink and showcases garden design.

The event has multiplied in size since its conception by Bord Bia and this year features hundreds of exhibitors alongside the show gardens.
Bloom is open from 9am to 6pm daily and tickets are available online and at the entrance to the show.

We paid a visit on the LUAS yesterday, (from Georges Dock LUAS stop it’s a 20 minute journey) and our favourite garden was the sustainable seafood garden pictured below.

VHI Women’s Mini Marathon

This annual event celebrates its 36thanniversary this year. The race takes place on Sunday June 3rd with a starting time of 2pm in Fitzwilliam Street.

The event is renowned as a successful fundraiser for many Irish charities, with most participants having their own story to tell as to which charity they are supporting and why.

For those of you taking part in the event and indeed your supporter’s arrangements for the day can be viewed here .

Best of luck to all you ladies taking part!
